The PENTA Building Group is searching for a Payroll Administrator to join our team in Las Vegas, Nevada
 
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the direct preparation and in-house processing of the company’s semi-monthly payroll. This position is fully in-person at our main office.
 
At PENTA, a Payroll Administrator will:
  • Perform all activities related to the processing of semi-monthly payroll, including the following:
    • Collecting time
    • Entering payroll changes
    • Processing payroll each pay period
    • Maintaining pay records (addresses, pay changes, and exemptions).
  • Review payroll register (current vs previous) for any discrepancies and review with Payroll Manager.
  • Activate new hires in payroll, and in Viewpoint Portal.
  • Submit monthly new hire reports to appropriate states.
  • Update payroll records by making changes in exemptions, direct deposit accounts, insurance deductions, and other benefit deductions such as vacation and sick time.
  • Upload and record HDHP, and 401k contributions with appropriate deadlines.
  • Prepare and report weekly and semi-monthly 941 tax payment.
  • Prepare and process monthly union reports for the company’s union payroll.
  • Process semi-monthly child support payments and mail to an appropriate agency.
  • File and maintain orders to withhold.
  • Respond to all salaried employment verification requests.
  • Complete unemployment forms for former salaried employees.
  • Record vacation and sick time in line with the appropriate pay cycle.
  • Process annual company-wide bonuses and adjust in-check bonuses as required. Issue sign-on and referral bonuses as needed.
  • Process monthly recurring payments for employees receiving phone, vehicle, and housing allowances.
  • Train new salaried employees on entering their time in Viewpoint Portal.
  • Follow-up with employees who have outstanding checks that are more than three weeks old.
  • Back-up Field Payroll Administrator on processing per diem checks for traveling field employees as needed.
 
We trust that you have:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience performing in-house payroll functions; construction industry payroll experience is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll auditing/payroll discrepancies.
  • Experience with union fringes and union reporting.
  • Experience with I-9s and E-Verify.
  • Knowledge of CBAs (Collective Bargaining Agreements).
  • Flexibility when managing time and unforeseen changes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of Excel and other Microsoft programs.
  • Capability of follow-up with others and tracking down information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
