The PENTA Building Group is seeking a Senior Virtual Design and Construction Manager to join our team in Las Vegas, NV, Pasadena, CA, or Phoenix, AZ!

A PENTA Senior VDC Manager is experienced in our field of construction and can lead several projects through the entire life cycle of a project from pursuit to closeout. Sr. VDC Managers are self-reliant innovators that serve as mentors, initiate training, and encourage the development of their team. A Sr. VDC Manager’s primary focus is the successful planning, execution, and support of VDC processes across projects. The Sr. VDC Manager reports to the VDC Director.

At PENTA, a Sr. VDC Manager will:

  • Assist with planning and managing the execution of department goals.
  • Develop and lead the execution of VDC management for projects.
  • Advise project teams on the implementation of VDC and use of construction technology.
  • Communicate the benefits of VDC to clients, industry partners, and PENTA employees.
  • Contribute to the development of company-wide VDC standards and lead the implementation throughout the organization.
  • Participate in development of training programs to share procedures, standards, lessons learned, and "best practices."
  • Work with the IT department during research, implementation, training, troubleshooting, and support of technologies which VDC and IT overlap.
  • Collaborate and support our preconstruction team on project pursuits, preplanning, and budget development efforts as required.
  • Collaborate and support our operations teams on coordination, project planning, and field execution for construction projects where needed.
  • Work closely with our marketing team on opportunities such as case studies, presentations, and project highlights.
  • Work closely with our quality department to deliver services that meet the needs of their initiatives.

We trust that you have:

  • A bachelor and/or master's degree in construction management, engineering, or a similar field of study is required.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of project experience working in the construction industry as a general contractor, prime subcontractor, or engineer-specific discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a project management role responsible for leading a large team, managing budgets, and maintaining project schedules.
  • A thorough understanding of all building systems and construction methods.
  • Competency with BIM software (Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, etc.). Experience in the use of BIM software (Tekla, SketchUp, Synchro, Lumion) is a plus.
  • Competency with field technology and software (laser scanning, drone operations, site control/layout).
  • Basic knowledge of project management, scheduling, and estimating software. Viewpoint Vista and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus.
  • Ability to be flexible, detail-oriented while performing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, produce quality deliverables, and meet project-based deadlines.
