Description
Pavarini McGovern is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator for a full time, in-person position in our New York City office. The Senior Mechanical estimator will prepare estimates for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems that range from conceptual through 100% Construction Documents. The types of projects include Hospitality, Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Educational, Cultural and Parking & Storage Structures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates based on Design Narratives; MEP and Architectural conceptual, schematic, design development and construction document drawings and specifications.
- Identify missing scope in the design documents that are required for complete and operational systems and include in the estimate.
- Prepare budgets, system studies, system comparisons and value engineering analysis.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with design teams, subcontractors and vendors.
- Solicit budgets and bids from subcontractors and vendors.
- Review, analyze and discuss bids for conformance to project specifications, budget, equipment and material quality, insurance and client requirements.
- Attend client meetings to discuss estimates and resolve any issues regarding pricing.
- Collaborate with in-house Electrical and Architectural estimators and field operations staff.
- Maintain current information on construction cost pricing and trends.
- Perform site visits to evaluate spaces relative to the proposed construction and associated estimate.
- Software utilized: On Screen take-off, Beck Destiny, Excel & Word.
- Assist in the award of subcontractor and vendor contracts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience plus 5-10 years of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection estimating experience in High rise building in New York/New Jersey.
- Requires well developed estimating, communication, budgeting, organizational and computer skills.
Salary Range
- $150,000 - 210,000
