Behavioral Health Skills Trainer

About your Role:
Skills Trainers are responsible for providing direct skills training, primarily in a
community setting, to youth with identified behavioral and/or mental health concerns
placed in DHS resource homes. Skills Trainers function as part of a youth’s Service
Team and develop their own Service Plans with goals that work toward stabilization of
the youth’s placement in the Resource home. Skills training is provided during times
identified as most relevant to the consumer/family (including nights, early mornings,
and occasional weekends).

Does the following apply to you?
• High School Diploma
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience- additional education may
substitute for years of experience
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and auto insurance
• CPR/First Aid- provided by an agency
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)- provided by an agency
• Tier 1 Collaborative Problem Solving – provided by an agency
• Satisfactory results of fingerprinting and background checks
