Change Enablement Consultant
Description
Change Enablement Consultant
Location: Remote
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Salary: Starting at $75.00 p/hr
Date Posted: 04-9-2026
About the Role
The Change Enablement Consultant is a hands-on practitioner responsible for creating and executing communications and training that drives adoption of strategic initiatives. This role focuses on building practical deliverables—communications plans and assets, training plans, job aids, and readiness/adoption tracking tools—and delivering them through coordinated change activities (e.g., announcements, leader messaging, enablement sessions, and office hours). The Change Enablement Consultant partners with Business Transformation, program managers, HR/L&D, IT, and Communications to ensure all impacted stakeholders are informed, trained, supported through go-live, and able to sustain new ways of working. This role is initially structured as a consulting engagement. We are especially interested in candidates who are open to a longer-term relationship, including the possibility of transitioning to regular full-time employment based on mutual fit and organizational needs.
Responsibilities
- Create integrated communications plans for each rollout (audiences, key messages, channels, cadence, and feedback loops)
- Draft and deliver communications (announcements, emails/posts, FAQs, leader talking points, and toolkits) to prepare users before, during, and after go-live
- Partner with Communications and initiative leaders to align messaging, approvals, and distribution across channels
- Maintain a communications calendar and track reach/engagement (open rates, attendance, page views, questions/themes) to refine messaging
- Create training plans and role-based learning paths aligned to the rollout approach (train-the-trainer, live sessions, recordings, and reinforcement)
- Develop training content and enablement materials (facilitator guides, slide decks, job aids, quick reference guides, and in-tool tips where applicable)
- Deliver training (live and virtual), facilitate office hours, and coordinate with HR/L&D to publish content in enterprise learning channels and track completion
- Establish adoption and proficiency measures; build simple dashboards to track training completion, communications reach, usage/behavior signals, and feedback
- Support go-live readiness by assessing change readiness, confirming communications/training execution, and surfacing risks/issues that may impact go/no-go decisions
- Coordinate hypercare and reinforcement (support resources, FAQs, issue themes, targeted refreshers) to stabilize adoption after go-live
- Partner with IT and PMO to align change deliverables to the implementation plan (milestones, cutover communications, training schedule, and support model)
- Manage a network of champions/ambassadors (where applicable) to amplify communications, support peer learning, and gather feedback
- For Microsoft 365 (Teams/SharePoint) and other tools, develop adoption enablement and standards communications to promote consistent use and compliance
- Track and report change readiness and adoption status to stakeholders; escalate barriers and propose targeted communications/training adjustments
- Produce recurring adoption/readiness reporting (dashboards, executive summaries, and lessons learned) to support decision-making and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in change management, organizational readiness, transformation, or related roles
- Proven experience creating communications and training plans, drafting and delivering change communications, and developing training/enablement materials
- Experience supporting technology-enabled rollouts, including go-live readiness activities, hypercare/reinforcement, and adoption tracking
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills; comfortable coordinating with PMO, IT, HR/L&D, and Communications to deliver change activities on schedule
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint) governance, adoption, or end-user enablement
