About this role

As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide support and encouragement to individuals in the creation and completion of goals working to develop self-advocacy skills, independent living skills, educational goals, vocational goals, and Wellness Recovery Action Plans. Assist and mentor individuals in using public transportation all while maintaining own wellness and recovery in order to support individuals in services teaching relapse prevention through identification of triggers, early warning signs, and use of wellness tools This position requires travel throughout the assigned region.

Does the following apply to you?

• State Certification in Peer Support
• High School Diploma or equivalent with lived experienced related to mental health and/or substance abuse; AND
• Identified as being in recovery of a minimum of one (1) year; AND
• Successful completion of Certified Peer Support Training
• Valid PA driver’s license in good standing
• Satisfactory results of required pre-employment and subsequent background checks in accordance with PA State and Federal Law

Preferred but not required:

• Prior experience in working or volunteering with individuals with mental health or substance abuse diagnosis
