About your Role: 
The Staff Accountant-Tax and Cost Reporting is responsible for business taxes and cost reports for all entities. Compiles cost reports and supporting schedules from individual reports of many diverse sources as required by contract or statute. Prepares/Analyzes supporting limited liability company and corporate tax schedules for consultants to complete the extended and final tax returns. Sources include trial balances, general ledger detail, meals and entertainment expenses, accrued payroll, bills and check registers, and other inquiries requiring support provided by other departments. Provide answers and information for any follow up questions. Provides corporate financial information to the tax consultants at their request to calculate quarterly estimated tax payments. Responsible for creating and submitting timely personal property tax returns for all entities to applicable agencies to meet all deadlines. Files business taxes as required by government agencies for various locations. Includes sales and use, modified business, business privilege, and environmental fee taxes. Maintain a consolidated tax calendar and tax payment tracker for all entities and tax types, to support timely payments and any inquiries by independent auditors, tax consultants and government agencies. Prepare business license renewal applications for all entity locations, maintaining a business license filing and payment tracker prior to implementation of outside contracted business license filing and payment process. Works closely with Accounts Payable to ensure timeliness and accuracy of invoice coding and account for tax and business license payments. Coordinates with Accounting and Accounts Payable, Payroll and Revenue Cycle Management to ensure proper identification of unclaimed property and timely reporting of escheated items to each state.

Compensation for this role:
  • $60,000 - $63,000 depending on experience
 
Does the following apply to you?
  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 2 years of tax and general accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting.
  • Advance knowledge in Excel
