IBHS Case Manager Position Description:
The Case Manager will guide and assist individuals in gaining access to necessary medical rehabilitative and social services. The Case Manager will coordinate and facilitate access to care, and monitor service delivery.
 
Job Responsibilities Include: 
  • Assigns and schedules Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) workers maximizing the available hours in conjunction with the planned needs of the client. 
  • Monitors productivity and utilization of assigned units, making adjustments when necessary, including the reassignment of hours among other BHT workers in order to maximize utilization and provide maximum service coverage when appropriate.
  • Maintains a roster of substitute BHT staff, utilizing them for work on an as-needed basis.
  • Monitors work performed by BHT staff to insure that work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures, program regulations, and expected standards for client care.
  • Processes paperwork required in enrolling a client in IBHS services.
  • Completes and maintains accurate files for case management notes for specific client service issues.
  • Provides accurate and complete information on the IBHS process to clients/families receiving services.
  • Coordinates Individualized Service Plans (ISP) team meetings with the Regional Director.
  • Maintains a tickler/trigger system which lists client authorization information, including start and end dates, reauthorization review dates, approved units of service, and consumed units of service on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensures that Regional Director is aware of reauthorizations which are to occur.
  • Obtains corrected, modified, and updated information from the Managed Care Organizations and distributes to staff.
  • Assists in gathering information as required for corporate compliance and audits.
  • Performs related work as required.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Provides administrative supervision to Behavioral Health Technician. 
 
Required Education and/or experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; with preferred two years direct experience working with children and/or their families
 
Preferred education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with preferred two years direct experience working with children and/or their families; Master’s Degree in the appropriate area with preferred one year direct experience with children and/or their families; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities cited above.  Previous case management experience is preferred.  Must have Act 33 and 34 clearances, including FBI clearances.
