About the Role
The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic community engagement initiatives that support organizational objectives related to early psychosis awareness, referral development, and community partnership expansion. The role exercises independent judgment in identifying outreach priorities, developing engagement strategies, managing external partnerships, and recommending program improvements based on community and referral data trends.
Responsibilities
- Provide community education and engagement, refer to intentional activities that raise awareness about early psychosis and reducing barriers to care.
- Plan and conduct outreach, education, and engagement activities aligned with contract deliverables.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, educational institutions, community organizations, and public agencies to expand referral access and strengthen community-based service integration.
- As a subject matter expert on community outreach and engagement, recommend outreach strategies, partnership opportunities, and communication initiatives to leadership.
- Create and maintain pathways of referral sources to the program and educate our community and partners about the referral process.
- Analyze community engagement and referral data to identify trends, evaluate outreach effectiveness, and recommend programmatic improvements and resource allocation priorities.
- Coordinate community communications initiatives to support organizational visibility and referral development.
- Oversee development and implementation of digital communication and public awareness strategies.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provide consultation and subject matter support related to community engagement and psychoeducation initiatives.
- Develop annual outreach and engagement plans aligned with organizational and contract objectives.
- Evaluate effectiveness of community engagement initiatives and implement process improvements.
- Represent the organization at community coalitions, stakeholder meetings, and public forums.
- Participate in development of outreach policies, referral protocols, and community engagement procedures.
- Provide recommendations to leadership regarding community needs, referral trends, and service accessibility barriers.

TRAVEL
- Required to travel and work in various locations within the County of San Diego.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Experience in ongoing community education, engagement to raise awareness, and building a strong referral network
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years’ related experience and/or training
- Experience designing community engagement strategies, managing stakeholder partnerships, and analyzing outreach outcomes
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Human Services, Public Health, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Communications, or a related field
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Proof of valid, unrestricted California Driver License
- Proof of Automobile Insurance
