Located in Culver City, ACCESS LA is a referral hospital with 24hour Emergency services, where our technicians encounter all sort of cases when working closely with some of the most qualified doctors in the country. Add that we have numerous specialty departments and it’s possible a tech’s day could involve a Macaw with a broken beak, time in one of our many advanced operating rooms, watching our Orthopedic Surgeons replace a dog’s elbow, or operating an MRI. It’s a long list of unique experiences best suited to those who absolutely love caring for sick or injured animals in a high-paced, renowned animal hospital.

ACCESS LA is looking for a Veterinary Technician - Surgery to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community   

As a Veterinary Technician in soft tissue surgery, you’ll play an important role in pets lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients.   

Role Responsibilities:   

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. 
  • With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow. 
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians. 
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. 
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems. 
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. 
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. 
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members. 

Experience & Skills Requirements:  

* Have an established record of working extensively in soft tissue surgeries 
* Enjoy being a key player on a dynamic team providing the highest standard of patient care
* Are comfortable also caring for dogs and cats, or any other animal that may need emergency or urgent care

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $36 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
