**$5,000 sign-on bonus**

Position Overview:
Magrane Pet Medical Center (MPMC) is seeking a full-time veterinary technician/nurse, as we add a new veterinarian to our team --- and we want you!! The veterinary technician role is critical in delivering effective wellness and illness healthcare to all patients that enter our doors, as well as those pets boarding with us. Our veterinary nursing team are our surgical anesthetists, dental technicians, phlebotomists and experts in obtaining and evaluating diagnostic samples, fielding questions by phone and communicating information from our doctors, and are critical in educating pet parents on healthcare topics.  

Veterinary technicians at MPMC are leaders and teachers - you share some responsibilities with assistants and help them improve in their skills. You will also be responsible for providing in-hospital monitoring and treatments to patients, using all your technical skill to obtain appropriate imaging and diagnostic samples, keeping accurate records, and effectively communicating with other teammates in reception, our veterinary assistants, and veterinarians. 

Fostering a growth mindset and providing both coaching and mentoring to all team members is very important to us. We are not allergic to change that strengthens us and helps us meet our goals. We have a structured skill level training program which helps all team members gain more knowledge over time. The ideal candidate is:
  • An excellent and detail-oriented communicator who loves building relationships with people and their pets.
  • An individual who ideally has 1 year of experience in the animal or customer service fields, and who is eager to learn new skills to consistently provide next-level veterinary care.
  • A kind and positive problem-solver who desires to offer gold-standard care for every patient, and has the compassion to ensure every patient is cared for to the maximum extent possible.
  • A dedicated person who takes pride in their work while possessing a sense of humor and the patience to provide care in a low-stress manner for our patients.
  • An ethical person with the emotional intelligence required to be a successful team player - you understand that everyone on our team has value and treat them as such.
  • Someone who can recognize their own challenges and is willing to learn, grow, and strive for the betterment of the team.
  • A committed employee who has a flexible schedule that includes some evenings until 7pm and rotating weekends due to the demands of a veterinary hospital being sometimes unscripted!
