Veterinary Cancer Group SFV is hiring a Client Care Specialis to join our amazing team!

The Client Care Specialist helps front office activities to achieve excellence in client and patient care in the daily operations of Veterinary Cancer Group. Coordinate client and patient admissions and check-out. Has advanced client service skills and basic medical knowledge. Insures that protocols, procedures, policies for office activities; such as those found on the daily check off list, are followed and completed daily, weekly and monthly as required. 


According to the Veterinary Cancer Society, 1 in 4 dogs will develop cancer at some point. The statistics are slightly better for cats.

The good news is that many diagnosed with cancer, survive, and go on to do happy, healthy pet stuff.

  • Process payments.

  • Prepare information packets for new clients.

  • Maintain and purge medical records.

  • Send purge letters to check on patients that have not been in.

  • Dispense medications and review with client at check out.

  • Have a basic knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Greet clients and patients in a friendly manner.
  • Get weights on patients and update computer.

  • Escorts and place patients in examine rooms. Place the chart and plastic place marker in the bin located on the front of the exam room door.

  • Notify the doctor of the patient’s arrival.

  • Confirm appointments for the following day.

  • Prepare drop-off charts by attaching a drop-off form, cage card and name tag to the front of chart and placing in the drop-off bin located on the front desk.

  • Answer all incoming calls by saying the company name and your name, then route to the appropriate person.

  • Set up and schedule all appointments for new patients and rechecks.

  • Track no shows and canceled appointments by making a note in the medical record.

  • Gather new patient’s records by calling the referring veterinarians office.

  • Enter new client and patient information into computer.

  • Enter into the computer all correspondence into patient’s medical record.

  • Keep existing client and patient information up to date.

  • Light cleaning of the exam rooms and front lobby area.

  • Check clients out by receiving and processing payment for services rendered. Also reviewing and printing invoice.

  • Receive signed surgery/treatment consent forms and euthanasia forms.

  • File chart after appointment is complete.

  • Monitor incoming faxes and distribute appropriately.

  • Attach laboratory results to the front of chart and place in the designated area for doctor’s reviews.

  • Learn opening and/or closing procedure if scheduled on your shift.

  • Perform other duties as assigned
