The Veterinary Facilities Coordinator oversees the maintenance, operations, and upkeep of the hospital to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for both staff and patients. This role involves managing budgets, coordinating repairs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and completing regular preventive maintenance on equipment throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facility Operations and Maintenance:
    • Overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth functionality, and coordinating repairs and maintenance for treatment areas, kennels, surgical suites, and other public spaces. Coordinate repairs to minimize downtime, especially in critical areas.
  • Budget Management:
    • Partner with hospital leadership, Thrive supply chain team, and hospital inventory manager to oversee the facility budget, including ordering supplies, equipment, and repairs, and overseeing financial expenditures.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, safety standards, and accreditation requirements
  • Staff Training and Support:
    • Support staff training on equipment use and regulatory requirements
  • Vendor Coordination:
    • Communicate with contractors and vendors for various services, including warranty services, preventive maintenance contracts, and equipment maintenance/repair. Manage relationships with contractors and vendors, ensuring quality and timely service.
  • Equipment Management:
    • Ensuring proper functioning of all facility equipment, including surgical equipment, diagnostic tools, Snyders, IV pumps, telemetry, and heating/cooling systems
  • Safety and Security:
    • Maintain safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for staff, animals, and clients
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintaining accurate records of facility maintenance, equipment inventory, equipment repairs, and safety inspections.
  • Hospital Support
    • Assist with additional hospital needs as requested.
 
Requirements: 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and manage facility-related technologies.
  • Knowledge (or willingness to learn) of building systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work in a veterinary setting with exposure to animals and various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, and work in varying conditions.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays; on-call availability for emergencies.
