We’re looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to help increase and enhance our brand reputation in the pet healthcare industry. You will oversee internal and external communications for Thrive Pet Healthcare’s business reputation, financial programs, crisis management, and risk prevention.

Reporting to Sr. Director of Corporate Communications, you’ll be part of a larger Marketing team contributing to the future of pet healthcare.

You can live anywhere in the United States to join our team. The core Communications team is on Central time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive programming for business content development, proactive media relations, thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and awards to increase, enhance and protect Thrive Pet Healthcare’s brand reputation
  • Draft and create high-quality content to support our business strategy and objectives. Types of the content may include leadership emails and video updates, press releases, op-eds, position papers, video scripts, presentations, and online content
  • Develop credibility and secure media placements for Thrive Pet Healthcare in industry and business press, including media inquiries, proactive and reactive pitching
  • Oversee the guidelines for external speaking and presentations and approval of materials. Develop presentations for C-level speakers
  • Lead the effort to identify and win external awards and recognition for Thrive Pet Healthcare’s achievements in business and industry at large
  • Draft communications packages for the crisis, risk, regulatory, and reputation events, including internal communications (risk alerts, talking points, Q&A documents) and external communications (media statements, client communications, and regulator talking points)
  • Act as the point person in a rapid-response team should the need arise and ensure proactive, positive messaging regarding the organization. Manage media and social monitoring to prevent risk and guide decision-making
  • Lead quarterly business and financial communications updates for Thrivers, partners, and investors
  • Partner with Total Rewards and Legal teams on content, messaging, and promotion of financial wellbeing programs across different channels
  • Maintain the external communications content calendar across all channels
  • Manage and update the online media center
  • Manage special projects as needed

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • At least 7 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations – experience in b2b, retail, or service organizations is a plus.
  • Proven record of delivering impactful external and internal communications.
  • Proven record of developing and executing successful media relations campaigns.
  • Significant experience in issues management and risk mitigation experience is required. You act with a sense of urgency in time-sensitive situations.
  • Experience in planning, development, and implementation of financial communications. Ability to transform complex subject matter into clear/ persuasive language.
  • Experience in partnering and providing counsel to senior executives.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills. Confident creator of multi-media content.
  • Strong project management skills, including hybrid event logistics, with a high level of attention to detail and time management.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a team environment that’s fast-paced and dynamic - experience in highly matrixed organizations a plus.
  • Strong collaborator across all levels of organizations.
  • Knowledge and experience of SharePoint, Marketo, and Microsoft Dynamics.
