We’re located in Culver City, near pristine beaches, tranquil hiking trails, superb restaurants, quaint boutiques, museums, Sony picture studios and so much more.  Veterinary Cancer Group has three other sites throughout Southern California. We work in the same building as ACCESS collaborating with advanced diagnostic, emergency and surgical services.  

Requirements  

  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
  • RVT license preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology
  • Prior chemotherapy experience desired, but willing to train the right candidate
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively with both staff and clients
  • Ability to handle high stress situations
  • Willingness to cross train in other areas of the hospital

Essential Job Duties:  

  • Administer chemotherapy for animals, primarily dogs and cats
  • Able to perform venipuncture, place IV catheterization, comfortable administering IV/IM/SQ injections
  • Able to provide fluid therapy and drug calculations
  • Experienced in animal handling and restraint
  • Obtain, run and process diagnostic test
  • Administer and fill medications
  • Some prior experience in monitoring anesthesia, but willing to train
  • Able to facilitate the coordination of patient care
  • Can assist with radiographs or holding for ultrasonography procedures
  • Strong verbal communication skills- able to provide complex information in a way that is kind and understandable to our clients.
  • Assist in patient procedures: exams, preparation of patients, present estimates and equipment
  • Experience and attention to detail in working with patients’ medical records
  • Experience with Ezyvet a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment and able to multi-task
  • Light housekeeping duties and restocking of treatment supplies

Hours:  Full/Part time; 10 hours shifts.  Must be available to work from 8am to 7pm.
