 We are an AAHA-accredited hospital in beautiful Oceanside, CA.  Our practice sees small animals 7 days a week. We offer a diverse caseload with a lot of collaboration on a variety of medical and emergency cases. 
We offer a 4x10-hour shift full-time schedule!

Pacific Animal Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.  

 

 

 

As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. 

 

 Role Responsibilities: 

 
  •  
  • Assist veterinarians with gathering patient histories
  •  
  • Establish and carry out treatment plans
  •  
  • Be involved in anesthetic procedures (preparation, induction, intubation, monitoring, dental cleanings, digital radiographs, and recovery).
  •  
  • Communicate pertinent information about patient care to clients
  •  
  • Maintain hospital and patient cleanliness using an aseptic technique, proper protective equipment, and isolation protocol
  •  
  • Frequently lift and move patients up to 40 lbs. 
  •  
 

Experience & Skills Requirements:  

 
  •  
  • Ability to communicate with employees and clients in a professional and courteous manner
  •  
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  •  
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy of patient care, charge entry, etc.
  •  
  • Knowledge of the services the hospital provides and the species it treats.
  •  
  • Skill in operating equipment, including computers and software
  •  
  • Skilled in client education in a general practice setting.
  •  
  • IV Catheter placement / Venipuncture. Radiology, Cystocentesis. 
  •  
  • Experience inducing, intubating, and monitoring anesthesia for routine surgeries.
  •  
  • Experience or interest in dentals a plus!
  •  
  • Veterinary technician experience of 2+ years.
  •  
  • CA RVT license or working towards licensure is strongly preferred

 Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $20-$27/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
