Position Overview:
The Veterinary Relations Partner (VRP) serves as a liaison between the hospital and referring veterinarians within the surrounding area. The VRP will be a key operations and communications representative to support the growth of referrals to our specialty services. The VRP will possess and utilize a keen knowledge of local opportunities and challenges and be able to strategically navigate relationships with referring clinics. This role manages the referral and reputation continuum for all specialty departments of the hospital.  In addition, they are responsible for multi-modal marketing for the entire hospital including other assigned service lines, hospitals or strategic focus areas.  The VRP collaborates with other employees in the hospital and ensures efficient processes as they pertain to referrals.
Reports to: Practice Manager, Client Relations Manager, and hospital leadership team.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with all hospital departments to acquire knowledge of clinical services and articulate them in an engaging manner to represent hospital and Thrive.
  • Frequent outreach calls and visits to rDVMs
  • Maintain an efficient referral management system, including vetting information in the PMS.
  • Act as administrator of the rVetLink records sharing system for referring clinics.
  • Work closely with the Client Relations Manager, CSRs, specialty referral coordinator, specialty doctors, and technicians while keeping an open dialogue and direct communication.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and EQ when speaking to referring veterinarians and all members of the referring hospital team.
  • Monitor specialty doctor schedules to improve appointment fill rates through coordination with hospital staff.
  • In coordination with the specialty referral coordinator, generate monthly and quarterly reports for case volumes, outreach calls/visits, fill rates, and referrals, then review with leadership team. 
  • In conjunction with hospital leadership, monitor and resolve concerns from referring DVMs.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to maintain and update content regularly on websites and social media pages.
  • Strategically plan and execute marketing campaigns, including our relocation to a new building in Spring 2025.
  • Utilize PMS software to document and track weekly interactions with referring vets.
  • Plan and organize CE events to be hosted by hospital.
  • Plan and organize participation in community events.
 
Requirements:
  • Public relations and/or marketing experience preferred
  • At least 3 years recent experience in veterinary practice, referral setting preferred
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, if needed for events
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel often
  • Able to accept and manage critical feedback
  • Project management or organizational skills, to manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Comfortable with modern technology, including social media
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a professional, upbeat manner
