** This position is hybrid and based in Austin, TX.  Austin residency strongly preferred.  Remote candidates may be considered if located in the U.S with proximity to a major airport offering direct flights to major cities coast to coast and willing to travel 50% to Austin. **

Job Summary: 
The Hospital Optimization Project Manager will play a critical role in driving operational improvements and hospital turnaround initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Hospital Optimization, this role is primarily focused on project management, data analysis, coordination, and operational execution. This person will partner closely with the VP of Strategic Initiatives and field operations teams to implement turnaround strategies, while supporting data analysis in collaboration with FP&A. This is a hands-on, operations-focused role where the Project manager will support projects from planning through execution to deliver measurable results. They will be responsible for supporting project execution, analyzing performance data, and ensuring seamless coordination across stakeholders. They will collect and analyze data to identify inefficiencies, recommend solutions, and help implement changes to enhance productivity and profitability. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Support project coordination and execution for hospital turnaround initiatives, ensuring timely progress against milestones and deliverables  
  • Support the identification of underperforming hospitals each quarter by gathering performance insights in collaboration with FP&A, focusing on financial, operational, and staffing metrics  
  • Partner with field operations teams and hospital leadership to develop actionable turnaround plans and execute operational improvements  
  • Perform data analysis to evaluate hospital performance, determine root causes of underperformance, and monitor and track performance against key performance indications (KPIs)  
  • Monitor and track project performance, focusing on operational KPIs like staffing efficiency, scheduling improvements, and patient retention  
  • Facilitate project meetings, document key action items, and ensure follow-ups to drive accountability and timely implementation  
  • Support the Director in sizing operational opportunities, gathering input from FP&A for financial validation, while owning the operational opportunity assessment  
  • Create clear and concise reports, dashboards, and presentations to update cross-functional stakeholders and hospital leadership on project status and impact  
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Recruiting, and FP&A to ensure timely execution and aligned support for turnaround hospitals  
  • Disseminate operational best practices and insights to promote continuous improvement across the hospital network  
  • Identify operational challenges, recommend practical solutions, and support their implementation in partnership with field teams  
  • Assist in refining the standardized hospital turnaround playbook based on lessons learned from each quarterly cycle  
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field  
  • 2-4 years of experience in operations, consulting, project management, or healthcare services  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools and software  
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving abilities  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple competing priorities  
  • Experience in healthcare or veterinary services is a plus
