** This position will ideally be based in Austin, TX out of our headquarters office and be hybrid in office 2-days a week. Candidates based in other geographies across the U.S. will also be considered for a remote role. **

software company, we’re looking for a dynamic, results-driven Business Development
Representative to join our team and drive hyper growth and market share.

Position Overview:
As a BDR at Vetspire you will be the first point of contact for potential customers, helping to
fuel the growth of the business. Your primary responsibility will be to generate qualified
leads through outbound prospecting and to build relationships with key decision-makers
across various stakeholders in the animal health industry. This role is a perfect stepping
stone for individuals eager to pursue a career in sales within the SaaS industry, as it o6ers
extensive training, mentorship, and a clear path to more advanced sales roles.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation: Proactively identify and engage with potential prospects through
cold calls, emails, social media outreach, and other outbound methods.
Qualifying Leads: Assess the needs of prospects, identify their challenges, and
determine whether they are a good fit for our software solutions.
Appointment Setting: Schedule discovery calls and demos for Account Executives
with qualified prospects.
CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of all interactions with prospects in
the CRM system (e.g., Freshsales), ensuring up-to-date and organized data.
Market Research: Conduct research to understand the target market, identify new
opportunities, and gather key insights into competitors and industry trends.
Collaboration: Work closely with Account Executives, marketing, and sales teams
to optimize the lead hando6 process and ensure a seamless customer experience.
Nurturing Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with prospects through
personalized and persistent outreach, nurturing leads until they are ready to make a
purchasing decision.
Performance Tracking: Monitor and track key performance metrics, including
outreach activity, response rates, and lead conversion, to meet or exceed monthly
quotas.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or
equivalent work experience).
1-2 years of sales, business development, or customer-facing experience
(internships or SaaS experience preferred but not required).
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to articulate
complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and self-driven, with a passion for technology
and sales.
Comfortable with cold calling and outbound prospecting; not afraid of rejection
and driven by success.
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across
departments.
Tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and software.
• Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Freshsales or Salesforce) is a plus.

Bonus Skills:
• Familiarity with the SaaS industry or understanding of common business challenges
that SaaS solutions address.
• Experience with sales tools like Outreach, SalesLoft, or similar sales engagement
platforms.
• Experience within the animal health industry.
