We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Risk Management & Compliance to join our team. This role will be a responsible for risk management and compliance, including the placement and on-going management of all general liability, property, D&O, professional liability, and employer’s liability insurance programs.

  • Establish and quantify the organization’s 'risk appetite' and ensure risk approach adheres accordingly.
  • Recommend policies and procedures necessary to achieve corporate goals and objectives, including specific programs, training and other activities related to compliance and risk management.
  • Manage the budgeting, placement and reporting under all non-health related insurance policies, including:  preparing risk management and insurance budgets, conducting periodic RFP’s for insurance brokers, coordinating with third-party brokers on insurance policy renewals, completing renewal applications, facilitating underwriting due diligence, being the liaison between operations and other internal stakeholders and the insurance carriers related to the insurance programs, reviewing insurance-related contract provisions, and maintaining all insurance-related, incident reporting and claims documentation.
  • Oversee all claims management programs and review incident reports and other documents with regard to insurance claims (and other potentially compensable events), communicate findings to the Chief Legal Officer and/or management as appropriate, and ensure appropriate follow up
  • Proactively develop programs with a view to decreasing risk and optimizing insurance spend.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership and other relevant bodies detailing any current issues or information as required
  • Conduct periodic comprehensive assessments of the organizations risk-management requirements in capabilities which takes in account the organization’s future grown, complexity and demands. 
  • Manage Worker’s Compensation duties and functions

  •  Provide support, education, and training to staff to build compliance and risk management awareness within the organization.
  • Serve as internal point of contract for compliance and risk-management related inquiries, including questions regarding the organization’s code of conduct and related compliance policies.
  • Manage regulatory compliance professionals, including as it relates to OSHA, radiation safety and controlled substances.
  • Support operations and medical excellence teams in the development and training on policies and procedures.
  • Provide proactive and practical regulatory advice to business managers and support function

  • Design, implement and lead a risk management and compliance strategy for the organization.
  • Support senior leadership and the legal team on embedding a compliance and risk management culture.
  • Participate in the development of corporate strategic planning, philosophy, goals and objectives in relation to compliance and risk management, including the organization’s enterprise risk management assessments and planning.
  • Ensure appropriate leadership teams remain informed of regulatory, legislative, and best practice changes and their obligations under these changes and how they impact the organization
  • Drive for enhanced efficiency and client service (internal and external) in all Risk and Compliance processes

Key Qualifications:
  • Open to 20% travel
  • 8+ years working in risk management and insurance
  • Experience working with insurance policy pricing and renewal process
  • Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification preferred
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Thorough understanding of the business or organization's goals and values
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Ability to handle private, sensitive, confidential information appropriately
  • Possess excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, energetic and upbeat personality
  • Ability to consistently communicate with a high-level of emotional intelligence
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)® is a plus
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional is a plus
