Vetspire Product Business Analyst
Description
** This position will ideally be based in Austin, TX out of our headquarters office and be hybrid in office 2-days a week. Individuals need to be willing to commute to Downtown Austin 2 days a week. Candidates based in other geographies across the U.S. will also be considered for a remote role. **
Job Summary:
As a Vetspire Product Business Analyst, you will oversee the full product lifecycle of our software products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, design, marketing, sales, and customer support to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap, and to deliver high-quality software products that meet the needs of our customers and drive business growth. This role will support our Data and Insights development team which specializes in financial settings and reports, health reminders, wellness plans, marketing, and inventory management within Vetspire.
The Product Business Analyst will leverage strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to empower their team in making informed technology decisions. The Product Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our Vetspire product.

Leading With Your Hands
- Creating project plans by gathering user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
- Participate in the QA of purchased solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized
- Develop and utilize standard templates to write requirements specifications accurately and concisely
- Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
- Participate in the selection of any requirement documentation that the organization may opt to use and serve as a bridge between technology solutions and business strategy, offering insights and recommendations to support decision making
- Participate in testing of new apps, integrations, and new modules of Vetspire
- Keep leaders informed with regular awareness reporting
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of successful Product Owner or Analyst successfully managing dynamic projects in fast-paced environments
- Proven experience as a Product Business Analyst or similar role in the software industry
- Proven financial and reporting experience, along with expertise in payment systems
- Understanding of the tools and reporting required for effective customer payment management and reconciliation
- Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
- Proven experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required
- Driven and supported change management methodologies and communication plans
- Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business process and operations
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Diplomatic approach to handling conflicts and managing stakeholder relationships
- Experience in managing relationships with vendors and external partners
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS degree in a technology-related field
- Proficiency in JIRA for tracking tasks, managing backlogs, and reporting or similar project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources
- Pragmatic Institute certification preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of market-driven product management and development principles
- Knowledge and experience of internal business and operational medical practices of a veterinary hospital
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset, capable of simplifying complex concepts; adept at conveying findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
