Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists (TPHS) is looking for a Neurology LVT to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You 
Work as part of a cohesive team performing patient imaging, assisting with unique neurologic examinations, and tests including on-site CT & MRI, and assisting with anesthesia and neurosurgery. There is a large client communication component to this position.
 
Role Responsibilities: 
 
  • Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and obtaining complete histories, reviewing care plans and records, completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, drugs and bandaging wounds
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency and follow correct procedures in catheter placement, phlebotomy, emergency medicine and digital radiography
  • Ability to handle high caseloads and stressful situations in a professional manner
  • Excellent understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with veterinary pharmacology
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic self-starter with a professional attitude and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Small animal anesthesia
  • Proficient with medical math calculations, including advanced calculations for CRI
  • Set up for MRI and CT procedures
  • Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions
  • Follow OSHA guidelines concerning safety and handling of hazardous materials
 
Requirements 
  • Associate degree in veterinary technology or other animal biology related field with 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced veterinary hospital or clinic, neurology or other specialty preferred
  • LVT in good standing or have passed VTNE and must obtain license within six months of employment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with co-workers, clinicians, staff and pet owners
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation
