We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Practice Manager to join our team at Lyndhurst Animal Clinic.

Our Facility: Our hospital provides soft tissue surgery, dentistry, wellness appointments and sick appointments for our patients. Our doctors utilize specialized equipment including dental loupes and a handheld slit lamp. We do digital oral radiographs on every dental patient, we offer in-house labs including CBC and chemistry, and we have state-of-the-art anesthetic monitoring equipment.

Overview:
The Practice Manager (PM) is critical to the success of the hospital, ensuring a positive culture built on shared values and direct communication, creating operational efficiencies, and problem-solving to improve client service and employee engagement. Typically, the PM is the “Integrator” on the hospital’s accountability chart and participates in the Thrive planning leadership meetings. The manager exercises sound judgment, and the willingness and capability to make decisions.
PM oversees the business activities of the hospital, including hiring and training hospital staff; working with Thrive finance to prepare and manage budgets; monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators; setting fees; maintaining inventory and an inventory control system; managing the hospital software, and implementing safety and security procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day to day operations of the veterinary hospital, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent customer service.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining adequate stock levels of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director (MD) and the veterinary team to optimize patient care and workflow.
- Hire, train, and mentor staff members, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide support and guidance to team members, stepping in to assist whenever necessary.
- Motivates staff and helps build and maintain morale.
- Utilize feedback from clients, staff, and management to identify areas of improvement and implement appropriate changes.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to hospital operations, finances, and inventory management.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
- Promotes continuous quality improvement to ensure the practices’ success and achieve the vision.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to veterinary medicine and practice management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, CVMP, or related field preferred.
- Three years of supervisory experience required.
- Three years or more of managing a veterinary practice required.
- Demonstrated ability to show empathy towards clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
- Familiarity with inventory management and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated commitment to team development and mentorship.
- Capable of leading, managing, and coaching staff at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated and proactive with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge of veterinary medicine and practice management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
- Demonstrated competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading and analyzing a P&L statement.
- Must have a availability during business hours, with occasional flexibility to accommodate hospitals’ needs.
