Bridge Inspection Group Leader

Purpose & Need
What You'll Do
- Lead bridge inspection teams for routine, fracture-critical, miscellaneous structures and special inspections.
- Assess structural conditions and identify deficiencies affecting bridge safety and performance.
- Ensure compliance with NBIS, FHWA, FDOT, and AASHTO inspection requirements.
- Review and approve inspection reports, condition ratings, and repair recommendations.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of inspection documentation and bridge inventory data.
- Coordinate field operations, safety planning, and inspection schedules.
- Develop and implement marketing business plans to grow backlog of bridge inspection team.
- Interface with clients and other PGA leaders in developing a bridge inspection practice.
- Develop maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement recommendations.
- Mentor and supervise junior inspectors and engineering staff.
- Interface with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders regarding inspection findings.
- Perform emergency inspections and structural assessments following unforeseen events.
What You'll Need
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Non-PE Safety Bridge Inspection Team Leader in Florida meeting the requirements of FDOT’s Safety Bridge Inspection Team Leader Requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an ABET Accredited University, majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 10-15 years minimum of bridge inspection experience, including leadership of inspection teams and preparation of inspection reports
- Completion of FHWA/NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges training and qualification as an NBIS Team Leader
- Fracture Critical Inspection training, NDT certifications, and FDOT bridge inspection experience preferred.
