Purpose & Need

Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a licensed Traffic & ITS Group Leader to lead the delivery of transportation projects for our Traffic & ITS team. The role is available in our Sarasota office. In this role, you will oversee the technical delivery of multiple traffic and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects, direct group resources, and play a key role in the growth and strategic planning of PGA’s Traffic & ITS discipline. As a senior team member, you will lead marketing and proposal efforts, provide quality control reviews, mentor junior staff, and facilitate internal training initiatives. What You’ll Do 

  • Maintain responsible charge over multiple traffic-ITS projects
  • Lead marketing efforts for the traffic-ITS discipline (preparation of Letter of Response and other Technical Proposals)
  • Direct traffic-ITS Group resources to produce a quality product
  • Provide quality control reviews when necessary
  • Ability to lead internal training programs
  • Assist in the strategy planning and growth of the PGA Traffic-ITS Group
  • Requires no technical supervision
  • Ability to direct and mentor younger staff 
  • Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor’s expectations

What You'll Do as a Group Leader:

  • Direct and manage resources of the group
  • Ensure quality product development
  • Track and encourages training and development of the group
  • Mentor discipline staff and develop future leaders
  • Identify recruiting needs and participate in acquiring new hires
  • Cultivate the PGA culture
  • Industry engagement to promote PGA reputation where appropriate
  • Lead and/or guide project management marketing efforts where appropriate
  • Reports to Directors/Executive Leadership on the performance of the group

What You’ll Need

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 10 – 20 years of progressively more complex post-registration engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent from an ABET Accredited University, majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with a variety of clients 
  • Excellent attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent ability to perform multiple tasks in an organized manner and concurrently at the direction of PGA’s Leadership Team
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities in all aspects while continuing to produce at a high level
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on deadline-driven activities
  • Skill in working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Office Products
  • Ability to work with across other disciplines (roadway, structures and drainage, landscape, etc.) to identify and reduce design conflicts.
