The Job at a Glance

 

The Vice President, Global Accounting is the senior leader who champions accuracy, integrity, and scalability across our global accounting ecosystem. You’ll own the quality of our financial statements, guide compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements, and build a worldclass, SOXready accounting function that can keep pace with Parts Towns fastgrowth environment.

 

As a key member of the CFO’s leadership team, you’ll elevate our accounting, reporting, and governance practices to support increasing scale, complexity, and external expectations—all while modeling the transparency, teamwork, and curiosity that define Parts Town.

 

A Typical Day

Global Accounting & Close Leadership

  • Lead all global accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all legal entities
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent financial results through disciplined close, consolidation, and reconciliation processes
  • Oversee complex accounting areas including intercompany, foreign currency, equity, leases, revenue recognition, M&A, and impairments
  • Establish strong documentation, review standards, and accounting judgment frameworks

Financial Reporting & Audit

  • Own external financial reporting, lender reporting, and supporting schedules
  • Serve as the primary executive contact for external auditors
  • Lead annual audits, interim reviews, and audit planning; proactively manage issue resolution
  • Partner with the CFO on Audit Committee materials and communications

SOX, Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain a SOX-compliant internal control environment
  • Lead SOX implementation or significant enhancement efforts to meet public-company standards
  • Own controls over financial reporting, including process documentation, risk assessments, testing, remediation, and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with Internal Audit, external auditors, and functional leaders to ensure control effectiveness
  • Establish governance practices consistent with public-company expectations

Accounting Policy & Technical Leadership

  • Establish and enforce global accounting policies and procedures
  • Act as the enterprise technical accounting authority
  • Proactively evaluate and implement new accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos and position papers for complex transactions

IPO Readiness & External Rigor

  • Contribute to IPO readiness initiatives, including reporting rigor, control design, documentation quality, and audit readiness
  • Upgrade accounting and reporting practices to align with public-company and investor expectations
  • Support due diligence and readiness efforts for auditors, lenders, and external stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure financial infrastructure aligns with future regulatory requirements

Systems, Process & Scale

  • Drive global accounting process standardization and automation
  • Lead or partner on ERP implementations and financial systems enhancements
  • Improve close speed, transparency, and data quality
  • Build a scalable accounting and reporting platform that supports growth and integration

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global accounting organization
  • Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and development plans
  • Build durable processes and a team capable of supporting increased scale and complexity
  • Foster a culture of ownership, rigor, and continuous improvement

 

To Land This Opportunity

 

  • You must obtain a CPA
  • You have 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
  • You have proven experience implementing SOX or SOX-equivalent internal controls
  • You obtain significant experience leading global, multi-entity accounting organizations
  • You have deep expertise in US GAAP; international/statutory experience strongly preferred
  • You have experience in public company, IPO-ready, or large PE-backed environments a plus
  • You have experience with ERP implementations and finance transformations
  • You’re high-integrity executive with strong attention to detail and sound judgment
  • You’re a confident communicator with Audit Committee and auditor credibility
  • You’re a hands-on leader comfortable building structure, teams, and processes
  • You thrive in fast-growth, evolving environments with increasing complexity

The salary range for this role is $216, 642 to $381,969 annually which is based on including but not limited to qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Parts Town is a pay for performance-company. In addition to base pay, some roles offer a profit-sharing program, and an annual bonus depending on the role. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, employee assistance programs, paid time off, paid sick time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and professional development opportunities.
