POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Operations Support is accountable for implementing strategic/process excellence tools and practices leading to a continuous improvement culture within the Operations area. Facilitate cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements. Create/sustain a process to drive disciplined process improvement skills and abilities to systematically identify operation problems, determine root causes, and implementation of successful solutions. Support activities to meet and exceed targeted metrics utilizing Lean Six-Sigma tool expertise. Establish processes, benchmarks, tracking systems, timelines, and procedures for implementation of best practices. Manage/create processes to support: Risk Assessment, Continued Process Verification, Cross-Functional Investigations, Lean Six-Sigma Certification Program, Organizational Best Practices, Quality by Design.

Process excellence responsibilities primarily within a single site. Mentoring responsibilities across other sites.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Investigation Program

  • Develop/Manage the Investigation Program:
    • Create a Lean Sigma Certification Program.
    • Develop/Introduce tools to achieve Root Cause Analysis.
    • Manage cross-functional deviations for Operations as needed.

Continuous Process Monitoring

  • Develop/Manage the Continuous Process Monitoring Program:
    • Manage the use of statistical resources and direct in a manner to achieve department objectives and process improvements initiatives.
    • Integrate the Annual Product Report into the Continuous Process Monitoring Program in alignment with Department Objectives.
    • Manage the monitoring and communication of CAPA effectiveness for Operations.
    • Develops, implements and supports continuous improvement programs utilizing necessary Change Management System mechanisms.
    • Oversee, communicate and participate in resolution to meet key metrics for Operations.

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor colleagues across organization to develop a continuous improvement culture.
  • Manage Lean Sigma Professionals to develop a companywide Lean Sigma Certification Program.
  • Provide leadership to the Process Excellence function, manages and provides development support to department personnel.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • BS Degree in engineering/scientific discipline required. Advanced degree a plus.
  • 8+ years’ experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with manufacturing quality, analytical and research skills.
  • Lean Six-Sigma experience or equivalent.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of cGMPs, FDA requirements.
  • Continuous improvement tools and techniques knowledge and practical application including: Lean, Six Sigma and Change Management.

  • Sit/stand in an office environment.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Afternoon shift premium is 10% (non-union positions only)
  • Midnight shift premium is 15% (non-union positions only)
