Job Summary - a concise overview of the job


The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for collaborating with employees and management staff, while providing daily human resources functional support focusing on: talent acquisition, employee relations and administrative support for benefits, compensation, payroll, organizational development programs, and HRIS, following standard and accepted practices under general supervision. This position demonstrates a high level of integrity, a strong depth of human resources compliance knowledge, and a proactive approach to customer service.


All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures.

Scope of Authority - span of control (work unit, site, department, division, etc.), monetary value of budget/spend authority ( capital, operating, etc.), P&L responsibility, etc.

Chestnut Ridge, Montebello, Horsham, Rye, Cranbury. This position requires a self-motivated professional who anticipates and takes action proactively with some direct supervision and has the ability to handle a multitude of priorities using proven project management skills in a team-based working environment.

Human Resources Support

§  Participates and attends GEMBA meetings for supported sites, giving HR related updates to the site leadership.


§  Performs various administrative duties for the department such as processing departmental invoices and POs, etc.

§  Assists managers/HR Director in employee performance issues to include verbal, written or final written warnings: drafts and tracks warning paperwork, works with managers, reviews Company policies, reviews deviations and makes a recommendation for the level of discipline. Responsible for delivering verbal warnings once the paperwork is approved by the HR Director and Legal, if applicable.


§ Gathers information and compiles/prepares special reports and spreadsheets for various projects.


§  Provides high quality customer service to employees across several locations and sites.

§  Coordinates “touch points” with our employees, i.e. employee surveys, focus groups, etc.


§  Drafts initial organizational announcements such as joining, termination, restructure, etc.

§  Works with each site to maintain HR updates on Endo TV and at.endo

§  Site Safety Committee Member

§  Performs other HR related administrative tasks as needed.



§  Leads all temporary staffing for Horsham, Cranbury, Rye and Chestnut Ridge, which includes identifying needs with managers and supervisors, engaging an approved agency, and coordinating the recruitment and selection activities.

§  Coordinates full time recruitment efforts with the talent acquisition team, which includes participating in interviews, feedback, selection, and onboarding activities.

§  Assists in the hiring process by coordinating pre-employment paperwork and background checks and drug screenings.

§  Conducts the on-boarding process for new hires including new hire orientations.


Talent Development and Organizational Effectiveness

§ Assists in evaluating, recommending and implementing processes, procedures and/or forms to improve the functionality of the HR department.

§ Coordinates developmental training, HR policies and procedures communications.

§ Supports and helps implement Career Ladders programs.

§ Partners with other site HR Specialists to ensure consistent practices across the organization.

§ Recognizes and reports on areas for improvement and retention.


Benefits, Compensation, Payroll

§ Educates new employees during new hire orientation by explaining Company benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, prescription insurance, life insurance, optional voluntary life insurance, and the 401(k) retirement savings plan.  Collaborates with Benefits, Compensation and Payroll departments to roll out new plans/policies with employees.

§ Manages site-wide employee engagement projects (i.e. holiday party, charitable events, wellness events, employee engagement survey, arrange focus group sessions, etc.) 

§ Coordinates/conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Provides benefits continuation information and collects company property.   

§ Maintains employee files in accordance with record keeping and retention requirements.






Education & Experience

Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and  certifications required for the job

§  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field is desired; minimum of high school degree or equivalent is required

§  Three to five years business experience in a relevant position(s) or combination of experience and internships.


Proficiency in a body of information required for the job   

e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.

§  Knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office) and proficiency using a variety of software applications, including excel and access databases

§  General knowledge of employment law is preferred

§  Thorough knowledge of HR and company policies, practices and procedures is a plus
