The Opportunity:
Parkland is seeking a Low Carbon Market Student for a 12-month term to support our Low Carbon Strategy team within the Supply & Trading division. This role will work towards optimizing and automating low carbon fuel market models and forecasting processes. The successful candidate will assist in translating existing models into platforms, such R and RStudio, to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Automate low carbon market reporting and forecasting using R and RStudio to streamline workflows.
- Analyze low carbon market challenges using economic models to assess market value.
- Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to support Parkland's Low Carbon Strategy.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize and improve market models for greater efficiency.
- Translate existing models into Python/R for automation and enhanced performance.
Education:
- You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Programming, Engineering; the candidate must be in the 3rd or 4th year of their program.
Requirements:
- You are available for a 12-month term beginning on or around January, 2025.
- You have strong data science skills, particularly in R and RStudio.
- You have experience with market modeling, forecasting, and processes automation.
- You have an interest or experience in the fuel industry.
