Position Summary

The Director, Retail Finance will work closely with Retail leadership team, operation teams and finance teams to establish and maintain financial reporting, analysis, planning and forecasting processes, to drive business performance, and to enable the business to achieve its strategic aspirations and goals.  The Director, Retail Finance will provide key insights on business performance to senior management.  Director Retail Finance also supports VP Finance USA to help Parkland achieve its operational goals, delivery retail performance objectives and support integration of retail acquisitions throughout Parkland USA.

 Major Responsibilities:

  • Working retail organization, and finance teams, lead financial performance analyses, insights, forecasting and investment financial evaluations for the Retail business.
  • Owns performance reporting and variance analysis for Retail business.
  • Performs portfolio, volume, store, gross margin analysis. 
  • Develops forecasts and plans;  Provides insights and performs retail site lookbacks.
  • Work with key stakeholders to build, design and implement more efficient business, closing, and reporting processes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Required qualification and experience:

  • Experience with retail convenience store industry, consisting of multiple entities.
  • Minimum of 5 years financial experience in a team leadership role
  • Strong understanding of financial systems (ERP / databases), processes, and internal controls
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS (preferred) or US GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

 

Other qualification and experiences:

  • Experience with PDI Enterprise ERP system, SAP highly preferred but not required.
  • Relevant professional certificatione.g. CPA, CA, CFA or similar preferred
  • Graduate degree in finance, business or similar preferred
