The Opportunity:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the wholesale sales growth, retention of customers, customer satisfaction, profitability, operational controls, health and safety performance and regulatory compliance. The function of this position is to successfully achieve financial goals and objectives of the PNWROC.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and manage a team of direct reports including office support, warehouse support, and CDL Drivers
  • Assign and monitor clerical and administrative responsibilities and tasks among office staff. Allocate available resources to enable successful task performance. Co-ordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Assign or delegate responsibilities to employees within the department. Evaluate and manage staff performance. Coach, mentor and discipline staff. Manage internal staff relations.
  • Design and implement office policies and procedures. Oversee adherence to office policies and procedures. Analyze and monitor internal processes. Implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and the Finance Department regarding the budget and financial planform the department. Prepare forecasting of budgets annually to set goals and expectations
  • Promote products and maintain the coordination with sales personnel. Develop, implement and review goals nonincreasing sales, growth and profitability. Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting with the development of long range and annual plans, and with the evaluation and reporting of progress on plans
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure all allocations are met and request additional product if needed (be more specific)
  • Responsible for plant, warehouse, facility and equipment associated with Branch
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of plant, warehouse, facility and equipment associated with Branch
  • Responsible for rolling assets associated with branch including but not limited to Tankwagons, Transports, Trailers, Service Trucks etc.
  • Onboard drivers and provide clear guidance on dress attire, proper use of uniforms, safety boots and PPE
  • Coordinate’s exemption requests when drivers experience long lines or loading, and customer supply is exhausted
  • Maintain driver performance and compliance will all applicable DOT laws, manage driver performance through camera system and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Maintain file for driver quarterly review and safety bonus.
  • In the event of a fuel shortage and a blanket Driver exemption notification is provided by the State to exceed the daily hours, the Branch Manager would coordinate with Marketing Manager and Dispatchers to disseminate deliveries to Drivers to meet customer needs and communicates with management and the Safety Department to ensure Driver safety
  • Maintain and uphold customer relationships to maximize profitability. Resolve customer’s complaints and inquiries
  • Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues for the Branch, including the property and vehicles. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Employee is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to PNWROC. Self-direction and motivation are also expected
  • Must meet performance expectations. Must complete all duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field OR High School Diploma or GED equivalent paired with 5 or more years of experience in business management or related field
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of management experience along with planning and financial oversight, designing and managing operating budgets, personnel management, including hiring, and evaluation
  • Experience in Transportation industry required
  • Bilingual an asset, English and Spanish
  • Proven skills in business and financial management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize opportunities to improve the business results and/or profitability.
  • Record of success driving an efficient and profitable department
  • Proven ability to understand the needs of business accounts and converting those needs into sales
  • Ability to travel to meet business demands
