The Opportunity:
Working within the Burnaby Refinery’s operating division, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all refinery operations during their assigned shift. This role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the refinery, managing a team of operators, and responding to any operational issues or emergencies that arise. The Shift Supervisor is also accountable for maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, as well as providing clear communication and reporting to senior management. This position reports to the Manager, Refinery Shift Operations.

Requirements:
- Valid 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate or a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in refinery operations or a similar industrial setting.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a refinery or chemical processing environment.
- Experience working within the framework of collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong decision-making abilities, particularly under pressure or in emergency situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with different departments.
