The Opportunity:
The Supply Operations Specialist will aid in managing the most efficient, consistent, and reliable supply of product into our assets and into our customer base. They are a key role to ensure appropriate product allocations and production plans to consistently meet our customer needs. They will provide guidance and support overall supply operations and support the execution of the supply plan thru forecasting and lift direction adherence.
Responsibilities:
- Support the movement of fuel products into and out of Parkland owned and Third-Party Supply points and working collaboratively with internal and third-party supply stakeholders:
- Contribute mid-cycle production/supply changes in response to deviations to plan and/or prompt optimization opportunities.
- Monitor regional and system-wide mass-balances.
- Update high level allocation plans in reaction to deviations to plan.
- Coordinate seasonal and quality changeover plans.
- Assist in manage terminal rundowns. Adjust inputs/outputs to balance local inventory positions using stock projection worksheets / supply plan forecast.
- Identify and solve for local pinch points. Communicate upstream/downstream impacts.
- Work with Fuels Quality Manager to execute seasonal quality changes at the supply point and rail/pipeline/marine level.
- Support the mitigation/recovery from quality incidents.
- Execute terminal allocation plans using Parkland Allocation Viewer and DTN/Tabs.
- Contribute to weekly Supply Briefing/Update.
- Support the Canada Crisis team as required.
- Collaborate and Support the FOP Leadership team to reduce errors and manual transactions, including those caused by carriers and wasteful internal processes.
- Contract Balancing for National Purchase and Exchange Agreements:
- Steward demand allocation strategies for Parkland and third-party customers to ensure all exchange contracts are balanced per terms of contract.
- Identify and contribute to the identification of optimization opportunities via demand planning & contract balancing.
- Track contract balancing and volume parameters (i.e., Imbalance reporting).
- Execute terminal and contract orbit shifts in pursuit of optimization opportunities / primary lift point direction.
- Supporting the annual/ monthly budgeting process and annual product demand forecasting /supplier nominations:
- Contribute to budget decision making related to asset events and investments.
- Provide logistics/inventory assumptions to budget.
- Managing product supply to customers during Planned and Unplanned asset outages:
- Coordinate supply planned asset events with logistics team utilizing DTN.
- Execute terminal allocation plans using Parkland Allocation Viewer and DTN/Tabs.
- Strategy and Product Supply Efficiencies Project Support:
- Collaborate with trading to identify and implement co-led value creation opportunities via arbitrage of quality, location, or time.
- Provide frontline intel and contribute to idea generation.
- Execute logistics and inventory plans to capture co-led opportunities.
- Identify and drive system-wide debottlenecking and optimization opportunities.
- Support asset investment decisions.
- Identify and drive localized debottlenecking and optimization opportunities.
- Support Parkland Sales team growth at a system and localized level.
Requirements:
- University degree in Business, Engineering or Sciences preferred, must have completed university.
- Need experience in a refinery and logistics within North America.
- Preferably 12+ years in Products Supply, Refining, or Fuels Marketing.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and strategic decision-making skills.
- Exceptional collaboration, communication, and non-authoritative leadership skills (NAL Skills).
- Ability to embrace change and continuous improvement approach is required.
- Knowledge of DTN/Tabs, Allocation Viewer.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced skills working with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau or equivalent).
