The Opportunity:
The Senior Inventory Analyst - Fuel is responsible for the daily balancing of Parkland inventory at its retail, cardlock, and commercial locations within their assigned region. This includes tracking, recording, and analyzing purchases, sales, and inventory adjustments to ensure the recorded inventory matches the physical inventory. On a monthly basis, the Senior Inventory Analyst will ensure all fuel products at each location is fully reconciled in accordance with the established policies and controls.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Accounting and Reconciliation
- Weighted Average Cost (WAC) Analysis
- Manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including recording transactions, adjustments, and reconciliations
- Perform daily inventory balancing between system calculated inventory in JDE and physical inventory measured at the location
- Daily analysis of inventory imbalances and investigate root cause
- Take correction actions to ensure inventory is accurately reflected in JDE and surrounding systems
- Timely response to client inquiries in accordance with the hydrocarbon accounting Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Collaborate with cross functional teams in Finance in the Business, Operations, and Optimization to continuously improve the processes, tools, and models used
- Support organization in timely response to internal / external audit inquiries
Month End Reconciliation and Reporting:
- Completion of month end reconciliation process and shrinkage reporting with corresponding journal entries, reconciliation of Physical to System, and Ledger to Sub-ledger
- Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) for region in compiling key performance indicators for the region (% of inventory imbalance and shrink analysis) including the “story” behind the numbers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, supply chain management, economics, or related fields and minimum of 3 + years of experience in a fast-paced environment in accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and well as the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment
- Ability to analyze large volume of complex data to investigate root causes
- Ability to work under strict deadlines and with competing priorities
- Effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with strong attention to details
- Ability to develop relationships across divisional lines and to cultivate a collaborative problem solving approach
- Adaptability to a continuously changing or evolving environment.
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team
- Working knowledge of JDE (JD Edwards) EnterpriseOne, DAS8, Spreadsheet Server, PowerBI, Allegro, OneStream., SAP and PDI
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
