The Opportunity:

The Point-of-Sale Supervisor is responsible for developing and deploying high quality retail and commercial technology solutions in support of various Brand, Operational, and Regulatory initiatives.  The position oversees test lab facilities and a team of Point of Sale and QA Specialists that work with petroleum and restaurant industry vendor partners to design, develop, maintain, and deliver retail, commercial, and restaurant Point of Sale (POS) solutions across all channels and brands of operation.  Includes oversight of vendor partner relationships and software services agreements serving over 3,000 sites.  

Responsibilities:

  • Manages POS and QA Specialists including assigning tasks, setting goals, mentoring and performance.
  • Oversee portfolio of POS, kitchen production systems, card lock, fleet, and related retail systems.
  • Act as a liaison for business side relationships and requirements and establish priorities and timelines for solution delivery.
  • Oversee vendor relationships including weekly RAIL status calls, issue/feature prioritization.
  • Supervise and maintain POS test lab facilities and related equipment, keep current with changing technologies and requirements.
  • Ensure that POS Specialists maintain a running log of system issues and status updates, and drive the performance of vendors on a weekly basis.
  • Define processes, procedures and oversight of QA/Beta testing efforts for new or updated software and hardware solutions.
  • Become a knowledgeable backup to POS/QA Specialists for all POS solutions. 
  • Act as liaison and escalation point for Retail support teams. 
  • Assist management with establishing annual budgets for capital and expenses for the team and facilities.
  • Monitor industry trends and technology changes and advise management on available options and proposed changes and new solutions.
  • Act as a liaison and escalation point with POS Specialists and POS technology providers related to testing, PCI and certification efforts.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management or related field, or 5 years’ experience in retail POS service, support, development and/or project management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management or related field, or 5 years’ experience in retail POS service, support, development and/or project management.
  • 5 years’ experience supporting retail credit and debit card processing systems and quality testing.
  • 3 years’ experience with fuel dispensing systems and interfaces. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and capable of creating project plans, budget plans
  • Understanding of network communications, security measures, data protection and PCI standards.
