Position Summary

Energy Transfer is seeking an experienced commercial professional to lead NGL business origination and commercial development activities across Asia Pacific, supporting the continued growth of the company's LPG and ethane business in East of Suez markets. This individual will be responsible for developing long-term structured commercial opportunities, expanding strategic customer relationships, and identifying value-enhancing market opportunities throughout Asia, with a particular emphasis on China.

The successful candidate will serve as a key commercial representative for Energy Transfer in the region, working closely with global commercial, trading, and business development teams to strengthen market access, drive business growth, and expand Energy Transfer's long-term NGL presence across Asia.

Key Responsibilities

Business Origination & Commercial Development

  • Lead LPG and ethane business origination efforts throughout Asia Pacific to support Energy Transfer's strategic growth objectives in East of Suez markets.
  • Focus on developing and expanding long-term structured LPG and ethane supply opportunities with Asian counterparties, including refiners, petrochemical companies, importers, trading houses, and end users.
  • Build and maintain a robust commercial pipeline of prospective customers and strategic counterparties.

Commercial Strategy & Market Expansion

  • Collaborate closely with Energy Transfer's commercial, trading, and business development teams to identify and execute strategic opportunities that create long-term value and enhance market access.
  • Support the continued expansion of Energy Transfer's commercial platform and NGL footprint across Asia.
  • Assess emerging market opportunities, customer requirements, and regional growth trends to develop innovative commercial solutions.

Trading Support & Optimization

  • Support optimization and opportunistic trading activities involving LPG and ethane movements into Asia when aligned with broader commercial and trading objectives.
  • Contribute commercial insight and market intelligence to support portfolio optimization and trading strategy development.
  • Evaluate freight economics, pricing structures, arbitrage opportunities, and regional supply-demand dynamics to identify commercial value opportunities.

Market Intelligence & Customer Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key market participants across Asia, with a primary focus on China and other strategically important regional markets.
  • Gather, analyze, and communicate market intelligence related to NGL fundamentals, pricing trends, customer activity, and competitive developments.
  • Provide regular commercial updates, customer insights, and strategic recommendations through weekly and monthly internal meetings and cross-functional engagement.
  • Represent Energy Transfer at major industry conferences, customer meetings, and industry events throughout Asia.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, International Trade, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of commercial experience in LPG, ethane, NGLs, energy commodities, trading, business development, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated success originating and negotiating complex commercial agreements within Asian energy, petrochemical, or commodity markets.
  • Strong understanding of LPG and NGL market fundamentals, pricing mechanisms, freight economics, logistics, and regional supply-demand trends.
  • Established commercial network within Asian energy, petrochemical, trading, and import markets.
  • Experience working with cross-functional commercial and trading teams in a global organization.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
