The Opportunity:
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of training material and communication to support operational activities such as brand standards, new procedures, new systems, and changes in execution; these may include written, visuals, or virtual tools and content.
- Build, update and facilitate virtual classroom training.
- Facilitate in-store training, nationally, for one to two weeks at a time for Franchise Partner onboarding and new store openings.
- Host and facilitate live events online.
- Assist with the administration of our Learning Management System.
- Develop content for our learning platform and tools to support business needs.
- Assist with the coordination of the Food Safety Training program.
- Liaise with other functional areas to ensure training support for all team members and functional areas, as required.
- Support our French speaking stores with other training requests as needed.
Experience, Education and Designations:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of training experience, preferably in a retail food industry environment.
- Post-secondary education in Adult Education, HR, Education, or another related field.
- Prior experience working with a Learning Management System.
- Prior experience developing and hosting virtual classrooms and workshops preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT).
- Previous experience with Canva, Vyond, Movavi, Articulate 360 preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and strategies for driving learner engagement and knowledge retention.
- Successful record of building effective learning experiences in the format of job aids, guides, infographics, videos, eLearning, and workshops.
- Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail and high accountability of deliverables.
- Proven project and time management skills in an environment where you may be contributing to several projects simultaneously.
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel throughout Canada with schedule flexibility to accommodate business needs, including evenings, weekends, and extended periods of travel. This position requires overnight and sometimes extended travel.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, which include lifting up to 40lbs and extended periods of standing and walking.
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record, as well as a reliable vehicle.
