Position Summary:

Responsible for sourcing equipment, products, managing vendors and team. To perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers.

Job Responsibilities:
• Process/approve all purchase requests and orders
• Conduct regular meeting to review PR and PR status and consistent update with respective Department Heads
• Responsible for obtaining bids from vendors for all items purchased
• Responsible for ordering all food items on a daily basis and supervising the operation of the storeroom
• Negotiate with various vendors for competitive prices for all items purchased by the hotel
• Oversee purchases of food, beverage and general storeroom items
• Supervise and schedule the receivers to ensure proper goods are received and maintain quality standards
• Responsible and ensure proper purchasing procedures are being followed
• Initiate awareness of new products to management, as well as to advise on potential cost-saving measures
• Maintain direct contact with PHG Group Purchasing Team in order to ensure increased buying power for the company
• Work closely with F&B Management to maintain or lower Food & Beverage costs through Purchasing
• Work with managers in setting standards for goods required and assuring goods received meet standards
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment and supplies, assess and interview to determine product availability and terms of sales
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
• Control purchasing department budgets
• Interview, hire hosts and oversee team members training related to Purchasing
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
• Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
• Conducts market survey semi-annually
• Ensure that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above by developing local SOPs and implementing them
• Participate and take a leading role in any team members activities organized by the resort
• Participate and take a leading role in any CSR activities organized by the resort

• To undertake whatever related duties or tasks that may be assigned by the Superior from time to time
• Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the
parameters of local law
• Lead the Purchasing and Stores department and associated operations such that account management, reporting, and interdepartmental and vendor relations are managed to optimize the hotels profitability
• Supports Finance team by providing month end closing supporting documents and all other required management reports
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or General Manager

Job Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the same capacity or similar, preferably in the luxury resort industry
• Has experience working in Maldives
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of purchasing software, “Check SCM” is an advantage
• Strong verbal, written communications and interpersonal skills
• Accountability and resilience attitude
• Good time management and organization skills
