About the Internship

 

As a Summer Intern, Technology with the Port Department, you will have the opportunity to engage with technology including but not limited to: Marine software; CCTV software and hardware; cyber and physical security; and Port communication infrastructure. You will also participate in pilots of new AI technologies serving Operations, Traffic, Customer Service, and Security.

 

Responsibilities

  •  Desktop support
  •  Software testing
  •  Participating in Business and Technology meetings
  •  Business process mapping
  •  Computer hardware inventory
  •  CCTV analysis
  •  Service ticket creation in ServiceNow

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
  • Major in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network and Cloud Computing, or a related discipline

 

Desired Qualifications

  • At least one year of completed coursework, preferably more. 
  • Curious about technology and ready to research new topics
  • Looks beyond the current state for innovative solutions
  • Problem solving through step-by-step analysis of the process or technical issue
  • Independent worker who knows when to ask for guidance
  • Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of database basics and t structure 

 

Internship Details

  • The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
  • The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
  • This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
  • The format is expected to be in-person

Compensation & Benefits

  • The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $27.89 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
