About the Role

 

The Treasury Department is seeking a professional with strong experience in Treasury Operations to serve as a Treasury Operations Analyst with a focus on cash and liquidity management. Under the direction of the Division Manager, this position would have responsibility for managing day-to-day cash flows, the processing of electronic funds transfers, cash forecasting, and daily/monthly cash account reconciliations. Responsibilities would include: controlling cash balances to maximize cash available for investment; forecasting, monitoring and accounting for cash flows to ensure sufficient levels of cash are available to meet cash requirements and daily initiation and completion of the SAP automated wire payment proposal. Candidate would also provide back-up for other treasury operations functions, including but not limited to investment portfolio administration and transactional support and debt management support.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily/monthly cash account reconciliations and properly record all cash transactions as needed and required for general ledger account closing.
  • Create and execute daily automated and manual electronic payments. Monitor and process payments for specific trusts, benefits, pension and retirement programs. Oversee readiness of SAP automated payment program and online proprietary banking programs.
  • Working with Division Manager and team members, suggest solutions to help resolve business “pain points” with automated solutions. Build scalable automation and dashboards to provide efficient, accurate, and timely treasury reporting and analytics.
  • Work closely and develop strong working relationships with all Port Authority Departments that produce cash transactions. Cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess knowledge of banking and accounting industry standards to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures in day-to-day conduct of cash management activities.
  • Monitor daily cash balances and in collaboration with team members forecast future cash needs.
  • Accurately maintain user and account group information for all banking platforms and accounts.
  • Support data entry and validation for transactions and bank activities.
  • Ensure high-quality work by focusing on details and adhering to timelines
  • Participate in assigned projects including analysis, testing, product and procedural development, and implementation.
  • Support internal and external audit requests including data gathering, validation, and follow-up actions.

Work with Division Manager and other team members to prepare and monitor Division Annual Budget. Prepare monthly variance analyses and reports, working cooperatively with team to ensure the accurate and timely completion of supporting schedules and documentation.

 

  • Support the Treasury Department with ad hoc tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance related roles.
  • Knowledge of cash accounting processes, procedures and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey anticipates that the actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on aspects such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal factors. The expected compensation range for this role is:​

 

Minimum: $73,658   Midpoint: $95,742   Maximum: $117,832

 

In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits employees to work remotely a maximum of one day per week, subject to operational and business needs.
