The Port Authority’s airports, ports, ferries, tunnels, bridges, bus terminals and rail transportation systems are important transportation links in the region. The Traffic Engineering unit within the Engineering/Architecture Design Division serves a unique role within the Port Authority by providing engineering planning, operation and design services throughout the Agency with close coordination with external stakeholders, including Federal, State and local transportation and regulatory agencies. The Principal Traffic Engineer – Transportation Systems Technologies is to report directly to the Senior Principal handling transportation engineering technologies and systems management. This intended role is responsible for traffic engineering production and design delivery of transportation technologies, and their functional connection to transportation planning, operations, and management. The Principal Traffic Engineer will supervise technical staff, including Port Authority employees, on-site/extension of staff consultants, and other consultant project teams performing transportation systems technologies services and/or producing design deliverables. | ||
