About the Internship

 

PATH’s mission is to keep the region moving and the PATH Contract Services Unit is a critical part of this mission.  Contract Services is responsible for the purchase of services and parts that allow the PATH trains to run effectively and efficiently and to provide a high level of service to our passengers.   To continue to provide a high standard of service to PATH, Contract Services is looking for an intern with computer programming experience to provided needed backend support and valuable administrative experience while working with PATH staff and other stakeholders.  This internship will also provide a unique experience of working on new initiatives being implemented by PATH’s Business Process and Analysis Unit such as GIS Mapping of PATH real estate holdings.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide computer programming and database support to PATH’s Contract Services Unit as the Contract Services Database is updated and migrated over to a new system.
  • Work with the Contract Services Manager to communicate with PATH Divisions regarding the Port Authority’s insurance requirements for various awarded and non-awarded contracts
  • Support the enforcement of PATH’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs by auditing contract compliance initiatives.
  • Create reports and spreadsheets, as required, to communicate insurance and audit findings.
  • Assist PATH’s Planning and Analysis Unit with programming and database support as needed.
  • Provide, as requested, document manage support.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
  • Majoring in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or a related discipline 

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with data analysis and business administration
  • Proficient in Power Automate and other Microsoft Applications 
  • Ability to pick up new computer applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow specific instructions
  • Ability to work independently
  • GIS skills helpful but not required

 

Internship Details

  • The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
  • The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
  • This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
  • The format is expected to be hybrid

Compensation & Benefits

  • The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $27.89 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
