Description
The MEP Project Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and managing all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing focused projects within the capital construction program, renovation projects and new hospital construction projects within Palomar Health's District. This position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including outside consultants, construction managers, contractors, architects, and state officials, to ensure the successful execution of complex healthcare facility projects. The MEP Project Manager reports directly to the Director of Construction and is responsible for delivering a high-quality construction project that meet all regulatory requirements, adhere to budget constraints, and align with Palomar Health's strategic goals. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in healthcare-related construction and/or design or equivalent combination of education and experience relating to construction or project management
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business or related field
Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years healthcare-related project or program management experience, ability to review, interpret and evaluate architectural/mechanical, electrical and plumbing planning and design directly related to the requirements of California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
Preferred Experience: 5 - 7 years healthcare-related project or program management experience, ability to review, interpret and evaluate architectural/mechanical, electrical and plumbing planning and design renderings directly related to the requirements of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Experience with MEP commissioning in a healthcare environment. Extensive knowledge with low voltage systems and mechanical controls, BIM coordination with all trades (RCP, Point Loads, Deck/Wall Penetrations) and knowledge of GMP Design Assistant
