Description
Provides tactical support to meet the goals and objectives of the organization and service for the Crisis Stabilization Unit. Knowledgeable in the clinical, legal (specifically Mental Health Law), regulatory, operational and business issues associated with the assessment, care and disposition of the behavioral health patient in an emergency state. Provides direct patient care and is a clinical resource and professional role model for staff. Responsible for the assessment, evaluation, discipline, coaching and monitoring of staff. Functions in a leadership role contributing to the efficient and effective operations of the service. Maintains clinical competency and assures that care, equipment and services provided are appropriate for the ages and needs of the population served. Ensures ongoing regulatory readiness of the staff and service, participating in chart reviews, monitoring and other performance improvement activities as assigned. Adheres to the highest customer service standards and holds staff accountable for the same. Provides prompt service recovery when indicated. Develops and maintains strong relationships with primary customers, local community partners, as well as those at the County and State level. Speaks and reads English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of dropdown menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education: | Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Social Work, MFT or Clinical Psychology |
Preferred Education: | Masters Degree in Nursing, Social Work, MFT or Clinical Psychology |
Minimum Experience: | 1 - 2 years related clinical experience |
Preferred Experience: | 3 - 5 years progressive supervisory experience Prior financial management experience |
Required Certification: | American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider Crisis Prevention (CPI) within 6 months of hire |

Required License: | Valid Driver's License Current CA RN License, CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist), MFC (Marriage & Family Counselor), LCSW (License Clinical Social Worker), or a Licensed Clinical Psychologist |
