Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. Financial management and operations management are delegated to Palomar Health and the CFO is an employee of Palomar Health and reports to the CFO of Palomar Health. However, the Arch CFO collaborates with the Arch Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Arch Board, the contracted physician groups and the Arch leadership team in regards to the company's financial strategy and operations.

Responsible for the planning, operations, and management of the entire Finance function including, but not limited to:
* Developing and implementation of financial and administrative protocols for services and policy/procedure statements.
* Responsible for the innovation and/or updating of the financial systems and processes.
* Assists Palomar Health with preparation of consolidated financial statements.
* Collaborates with Leadership to develop annual budget and provides regular forecasts and reports to management/Leadership and Board of Directors.
* Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results and initiating corrective actions.
* Directs all financial activities in collection of receivables, disbursements of payables and managing fixed assets.
* In collaboration with the Arch CEO and leadership team develops long-term business and financial planning.
* Acts as Leadership liaison to the Network Executive Council (NEC) and the Board of Directors, attends Board of Director and NEC meetings.
* Trains, assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work performance of staff Develops, implements and, implements and conducts training programs for staff; develops and mentors a high-performing team for all areas of responsibilities.
* Works with Information Technology Decision Support function to further develop networks used by various departments throughout the organization.
* Provides expertise and resources to analyze different business opportunities or financial alternatives in support of executive or director-level decision making.

Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field or CPA
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
Minimum Experience: 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare finance, with significant experience as the number one or two fiscal officer, ideally in a multi-site healthcare organization. Five years of experience in a healthcare setting as a CFO or Director of Finance.
Preferred Experience:
