Description
Responsible for planning and directing Palomar Health's comprehensive cardiac services platform. Responsible and accountable for enhancing the operational, financial and clinical performance of the cardiac service line by building a cohesive team with Department Chairs, Medical Staff Officers, Medical Staff, Vice President, PMC, Vice President, POM, Chief Nursing Officers, and other interdisciplinary department heads of the respective divisions. Coordinate diagnostic and interventional cardiac services to promote efficiency, continuity of care and physician satisfaction. Exercise creative approaches to problem solving. Deal with conflict and problematic situations in an open and tactful manner respecting the dignity of others. Responsible for establishing a positive working relationship with the leadership staff sufficient to encourage volume growth, efficient patient care processes, quality clinical outcomes, and information systems necessary to support reliable outcomes reporting. Develop annual and ongoing operational and business plans consistent with the health system's mission and vision. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates all aspects of care/services delivered; insuring quality programs, patient safety and a level of customer service that strives to exceed internal and external customer expectations; develops strong relationships with primary customers. Assist in educating physicians, nursing, ancillary staff, new employees and community groups on best practices and cardiac services. Manage the collection and reporting of clinical outcomes data to major outside agencies and registries as required. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
