Description
The HR Specialist provides support to the HR Team, managers and employees with a wide range of services, including providing resolutions to employee questions, inquiries or requests, onboarding, off boarding, data entry, etc. Point of contact for hiring managers and new employees during onboarding including processing background/reference checks and all activities associated with the pre-employment requirements. Ensures the compliance for all backgrounds, licensure and certifications are met for all new hires, travelers and contractors. Initiates backgrounds for students and volunteers and provides appropriate clearance communications. Reviews, verifies, enters and uploads data to HR information systems. Maintains and electronically files support documentation. The HR Specialist will provide support to the HR front desk, monitor and respond to shared email inboxes and distribute action items to team members as appropriate. This position will handle a variety of HR-related transactions and requires a high degree of accuracy and customer service.
Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
