Responsible for the provision of the systemï¿½s Risk Management activities, ensuring a strategy and vision for these services that support the Palomar Health Strategic Plan. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of care/services delivered; insuring quality programs, patient safety and a level of customer service that strives to exceed internal and external customer expectations; develops strong relationships with primary customers. Practices excellent employee relations and attention to employee needs. Develops and mentors a high performing management team for all areas of responsibility. Ensures financial viability by managing both applicable revenue and expenses with attention to supply cost utilization and a high level of productivity in cost centers under direct control. Duties also include administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, coodinating the immediate response and follow-up activites for critical incidents, managing and analyzing risk management data, conducting risk management education programs, complying with risk management related standards by regulatory agencies with the objective of enhancing patient safety and the quality care and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the facility, managing claims against the facility, interfacing with BETA Healthcare Group and defense legal council. Proactively identifies and implements loss prevent opportunities. Practices excellent employee relations. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.
