Responsible for managing the Security Department operations at assigned Palomar Medical Center campus including, but not limited to: hiring, schedule, counseling, coaching, orienting and training staff. Assists with the development of policies/procedures and training programs. Documents and follows up on security incidents. Monitors the scheduling, conducting and scoring of fire drills at assigned Palomar Medical Center campus and other security alarm system testing at other Palomar Health off-site buildings. Monitors and reports performance improvement activities. Insures compliance with all regulatory agencies as it relates to security management. Insures the safety and security of employees, patients and visitors. Acts as the relief Safety Officer when needed. Oversees the operation of assigned Palomar Medical Center campus security camera and recording system. Adheres to established policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control policies. Represents the department on hospital committees and task forces.

Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.
