Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Program Manager specializing in healthcare to join our team. As a SAPM, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining software applications tailored for the healthcare industry. Your expertise will contribute to the improvement of healthcare systems and workflows to ensure efficient and secure operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a deep understanding of healthcare processes and regulations and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance patient care.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop and implement healthcare software applications.
2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements.
3. Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to integrate software applications with existing healthcare systems such as EMR/EPM.
4. Support the configuration, deployment and maintenance of applications addressing any issues or bugs that may arise.
5. Assist in the documentation of designs, technical specification and development process.
6. Ensure that projects adhere to healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements
7. Coordinate the integration of various healthcare applications and systems to enable seamless data sharing and interoperability.
8. Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance of applications to ensure accuracy and reliability.
9. Stay current with healthcare regulations, standards, and certifications and ensure that applications comply with these requirements.
Minimal supervision - works under standard operating procedures, some procedures may be well defined, or a precedent may have already been established. The supervisor may not be always available or on-site. Employees have a large role in setting work objectives and organizing their work. Work consists of some routine tasks with a few choices as to what operations and processes will be followed as well as some difficult to complex tasks which require the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines. Requires the use of considerable judgement where answers and solutions can only be found after careful and thoughtful analysis.

Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop-down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the first two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health Medical Group rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health Medical Group.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education: | BS/BA in Healthcare or IT (or) 5-7 years equivalent |

Minimum Experience: | 7-10 years of experience with an emphasis on application analysis, development, improvement, and support. Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and protocols. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to navigate through complex challenges. 3-5 years of project management |
